Papatowai campsite amenity block
Nestled in native bush is an old DOC ranger house beside the Papatowai Campsite, which has easy access to the beautiful beach and estuary. Nearby is the Tahakopa Bay Scenic Reserve and many bush walks. Tasks include weeding, vegetation trimming, amenity cleaning, deck cleaning, minor building and a general tidy up of the campsite and area surrounding the DOC house prior to the start of the busy summer season.
What to expect
Fitness/skills: Medium. Carpentry skills would be useful.
Accommodation: Fully-furnished three-bedroom DOC house at Papatowai. A hot shower and laundry facilities are available, and all kitchen appliances and equipment are provided.
Pickup/drop off location: Meet at the DOC Field Centre, 20 Ryley Street, Owaka on Monday 13 November at 8.30 am. The activity will finish at Paptowai around 4.00 pm on Friday 17 November.
Cost: $120 per person - contribution towards food and transport.
