Introduction

Congratulations to grand prize winners the Darge Family, who had a great time mountain biking and cache hunting near Taupo during Conservation Week.

Highlights

Competition has closed. Thanks to all that entered.

Geocaching is an international phenomenon. It is an outdoor adventure where players use a free mobile app to find cleverly hidden containers ('caches'). It's been described as a real-world outdoor treasure hunt using GPS coordinates. Read the Geocaching 101 guide.

We placed caches in some of New Zealand's most amazing and beautiful locations. Last year 24 DOC offices contributed to the competition.
